The Cape Charles condo perfect for our own family of five, and now we're sharing it with yours.
Tucked inside the gates of Bay Creek, our 1,890 sq ft condo is the largest in The Fairways and was designed with traveling families in mind. Three bedrooms sleep everyone comfortably: a king-bed primary suite with walk-in closet for the grown-ups, a queen guest room, and — our favorite — a dedicated bunk room for the little ones. (No more squabbling over who gets the air mattress.) Two full baths, a fireplace for shoulder-season evenings, and a private balcony made for morning coffee and end-of-day wine.
The Slow Life
Bay Creek is the difference. Most Cape Charles rentals get you to the public town beach — and ours does too, just a short golf cart ride away through historic downtown's shops and restaurants. But staying with us also means you're just steps from the Fairways HOA pool, with overflow parking right out front. You'll have access to Bay Creek's private residents' beach on the Chesapeake Bay, miles of nature trails for morning walks or evening strolls with the dog (yes, we're pet-friendly — well-behaved pups welcome with prior approval).
Inside, you'll find bright, open coastal living with new luxury vinyl plank floors throughout, a fully stocked stainless kitchen, new washer and dryer, fast Wi-Fi, and smart TVs with Roku.
What sets us apart: we travel with kids, so we stocked for families that do too. The kitchen has everything you need for big breakfasts and easy dinners. The garage can hold all of your beach and pool essentials. Pack-n-play, high chair, kid plates and cups, board games, and books are all here. Everything is on one level once you're upstairs, with an attached 2-car garage at ground level for easy unloading.
Living & Dining
An open floor plan connects the living room, dining area, and kitchen — perfect for keeping an eye on the kids while you prep dinner or pour a glass of wine. The living room features a cozy gas fireplace, comfortable seating for the whole family, and a smart TV ready for movie nights. French doors open to the private balcony.
Kitchen
Fully stocked stainless steel kitchen with everything you need to cook in: large pantry for storage, full-size refrigerator, range, microwave, dishwasher, and disposal. Keurig, blender, toaster, full set of pots, pans, knives, mixing bowls, and bakeware. Plenty of plates, glasses, and silverware for a full house. Kid-friendly plates, cups, and utensils tucked in a low drawer for easy reach.
Bedrooms
Primary Bedroom King bed, walk-in closet, smart TV, en-suite access to the full bath. Connected to a sitting room with a pull out couch - maybe for those little ones who need to be a bit closer.
Guest Bedroom Queen bed with plenty of closet space. Comfortable and quiet — ideal for a couple, a solo guest, or grandparents helping with the kids.
Bunk Room (our favorite room in the house)
This is the room that sold us on sharing the condo. Two twin-over-twin bunks sleep up to four kids, which means no air mattresses, no pull-out couches, and no negotiations about who gets the "real" bed. Everyone has their own spot.
We designed and stocked it for the way kids actually use a room. Books within reach. A small bin of toys. Nightlights for the kids who need them, and blackout window treatments for the ones who sleep better in a pitch-black room (ours included, so we get it).
A sound machine is on the shelf for the light sleepers, and we keep a baby monitor available for the youngest guests. If you forgot yours at home, no scramble. It's already here.
